For these two assignments, we had to create a picture with three puns by using Photoshop to select and style pictures. For the dictionary assignment, we had to use Photoshop to create three different visual definitions for words. I chose to do Skyline, Symmetry, and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. I used several different photos and layers to make these photos cool.
PUNS:
Peanut Butter
Paradox
Hot Dog
VISUAL DEFINITIONS:
For this assignment, I learned to use different layers and opacity to get across the meaning of the word. I really loved creating the skyline photo because I used several different cities' skylines and leveled them out to create one combined skyline. I also used the painting tool to add black to make it look sleeker. I also really like the symmetry one, where I used opacity to make the zebra stripes less prominent.

Photo Assignment Seven: Still Life
In this assignment, I had to take pictures of an object and use lighting to highlight the subject. I set up three different things; an iron doll, a glass bowl, and a basket. I tried putting the light at several different angles to highlight shadows or features of the objects.
MY BEST PHOTOGRAPH:
PHOTO INFO:
Aperture - f4.5
Shutter Speed -1/25
ISO - 400
Other Photos from Shoot:

One thing that I learned with this shoot is that you really have to take your time when setting up lighting and take tons of photos. I moved my light around a lot and put it at different angles. It was really cool to see the different shadows of the basket and bowl. I also really loved being able to frame the girl with the chairs.

Photo Assignment Six: NATURE
In this assignment, I really wanted to capture some of the details in nature as well as the colors. I edited the photo a bit to really make it stand out. I really wanted to get a nice background and took a few different photos at this location, my grandmother's house. The color was really nice during that time of year.

Portrait Assignment
In this assignment, we had to use two different lighting set-ups to take portrait photos. The first one we used was a three-point lighting studio set. In ours, however, there were four lights; I used this to take the photograph on the left. The photograph on the right was taken with light from a window and a large white poster to deflect some light onto the darker side of the face. We then had to create a single composite of the two photos to show the different lighting effects.
MY PHOTOGRAPHS:
In this assignment, I learned about all of the different lights used in a three-point light set-up, including the hair light, back light, and the key light. I also learned how to adjust the card in order to balance the light from a window on both sides of the subject's face. I really like being able to see how studio lights work and how they help a photograph.

Photo Assignment Four: EVENT
In this assignment, I took photos during Senior Hill Day at cross country. I focused my camera on a spot and took pictures of the girls as they came down the hill and through the tunnel. I really liked how you can see the excitement of the event in the photos.

School Photoshop
In this assignment, we had to take a picture of or in our school and use Photoshop to alternate it to make it look unreal in some way. We could change the colors or add in a background, as well as editing in things, people, or objects. We were challenged to use all of the things that we have learned in Photoshop to create a great photograph.
MY FINAL PHOTOGRAPH:
In this assignment, I learned how to be creative the things that I have learned in Photoshop. I really liked being able to adjust the contrast of the building to make it look sleeker, as well as inserting my own background. I wasn't intending to do a Star Wars theme, but once I made the building look like it does above and added the space background, it just made sense. I loved being able to do anything to the photograph and learned how to edit in images.

Panoramic Assignment
In this assignment, we had to take photos and turn them into a panoramic photo using Photoshop. I used a tripod to keep the photographs level while I was taking several. Once I had my photos, I put them into Photoshop and it merged them for me.
PANORAMIC PHOTOGRAPHS:
There are two additional photos, but they were too big to upload.
In this assignment I learned several techniques that must be used when taking panoramic photographs. First, I learned that you should use a tripod in order to keep your photo level all the way through. I also learned that you have to overlap about one-third of each photograph with the last one. I had one vertical panoramic that didn't load, but I learned that you could do that!

Photo Assignment Three: MACRO
In this assignment, I tried to capture the detail in an object. I was lucky enough to come across a butterfly and loved the color in the photo. I used my focal length to focus my photo and the subject. I used my aperture to adjust the depth of field creating a blurred background.
MY BEST PHOTOGRAPH:
Shutter Speed-1/499
Aperture- f5.6
ISO- 400
I this assignment I learned how to adjust the shutter speed and aperture to balance the light, depth of field, and focus. I really had to make small adjustments as I got closer and closer. I learned how to pick out objects that I could show details in and highlight the right parts.

Photo Assignment Two: PEOPLE
For the people assignment, we are supposed to take a candid portrait of someone that shows off their personality. I was taking pictures of my friend throwing leaves and got this really great photo of her laughing. I took a lot of different photos with varying numbers of people, but tried to get a shallow depth of field in all of them to draw the eye to the subject of the photograph.
MY BEST PHOTOGRAPH:
Shutter Speed- 1/320
Aperture- f5.6
ISO Number- 1600
These are some of my favorite photos for this week's assignment...

In this assignment, I learned how to adjust my aperture and ISO to get the right amount of lighting for the outdoor setting and light. I worked on my ability to take good action picture, in this case of people. I worked on how to get the color just right to show the fall setting.

Photo Inspiration Two
In this assignment, I want to capture a portrait of a person. I really want to get great lighting and color like the first picture.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/rohtas/843626014/
I also really loved the the way this one plays with the angles of the person in subject. It also makes you think about a deeper meaning over covering up and what the person is feeling.

In this photo, the photographer really takes advantage of the spacing and the background. I also love the way they capture just a bit of the wind in the picture.

Photo Assignment One: ANIMAL
In this assignment, I was trying to capture my dog in motion in order to complete the subject of an animal. The lighting wasn't great, so I used my shutter speed, aperture, and ISO to adjust the exposure of the photo. I got a wide range of exposures and shutter speeds in these photos that allow for many different types of photographs.
This was my best photo:
The Shutter Speed was... 1/249
The Aperture was... 29
The ISO was... 1600
This is my slide show for this assignment, which shows my other photos for the week.
In this assignment, I learned how to adjust my exposure elements to all types of light. I wasn't used to doing it quickly and in the dark, like you see in one of the photos. I was really happy with the way the shadows played off of my dog and how the light that came through caught the color of his fur. I also learned how to adjust my zoom to get the right amount of room for the subject of the picture.

Car Show Photoshop
I this assignment, we took a photo of a car shot by Noelle Jacobs and used Photoshop to edit it. I learned how to use the cloning stamp to get rid of glares by copying the color from a spot beside it. I used the levels to adjust the color and darkness of the photo. I learned how to use the select tool to black out the background and darken the windshield. You can really see how using Photoshop makes a photo look more professional and clear-cut.

Motion Blur Demo
In this assignment, we went outside and took pictures of OD riding his motorcycle in order to learn how to create motion blur in a photo. I thought it was really difficult at first, but found that using a higher shutter speed was helpful as long as I was able to stay right with him. I also had the advantage of a much higher aperture, which allowed me to do this in the bright light of the day.

Shadows and Light Inspiration
http://www.flickr.com/photos/deniscollette/406158510/
I really loved this photo because it doesn't look really fancy or professional, but the shadows are amazing! The shape of the leaf comes out onto the ground and is the center of the photo. The shadow is really dark and helps to create great contrast in this photo.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/riccarducci/1434420180/
This photo really brings out the composition element of framing in a really creative way. The subject is the man, but he is dark and almost mysterious. I also really love how detailed that walk and building are in this photo.

Popart
For this assignment we used Photoshop CS5.1 to create a pop art effect on a picture that we took on Photo Booth. I learned how to change the color of the photo as well as how to give it a grainy effect. I had to read the directions extremely carefully in order to use Photoshop. I found that there is a lot more detail to Photoshop than I originally expected.

Compostition
In our first assignment, we were asked to read about and find examples of eleven elements of composition. These elements were pattern, rule of thirds, symmetry, texture, depth of field, lines, framing, perspective, space, balance, and color. We then were tasked with taking pictures of each of these composition elements and putting them into photoshop.com. Once we had created an album with the our best photo of each, we added it to our new blog.
Pattern - Trash Cans
Rule of Thirds - Payton from Saline
Symmetry - Benches
Texture - Red Diamonds
Depth of Field - Bee in Yellow
Lines- Jenny in the Street
Framing - Statue Beneath the Chair
Perspective - Up a Net
Space - Orange and A Girl
Balance - Pear & Apple
Color - Flower on the Rocks

In this assignment I learned many different ways to enhance my picture and make them more interesting. I was really surprised by how framing gave my photo a whole other dimension. Taking pictures for depth of field really helped me to emphasize the subject of my photo. I also learned that when you balance a photo, it really evens out what you are looking at. By using space I was able to really draw the eye more effectively to my subject.
